COMMUNITY SERVICE

To create awareness and build a strong relationship with the community, the organizer has strategically planned a series of interactive activities, including visits to four selected destinations. These visits aim to foster engagement, encourage meaningful connections, and enhance mutual understanding between the organizers and the community. Through these initiatives, participants will have the opportunity to interact, share experiences, and contribute to community development in a meaningful way.
Severals destinations have been chosen for these community activities, each selected to maximize engagement and foster meaningful interactions. These locations will serve as key touchpoints for participants to connect, share experiences, and contribute to community development. Through strategic visits and planned activities, the organizer aims to strengthen relationships, create awareness, and encourage active participation from the community.

| SEMENGGOH ORANGUTAN REHABILITATION CENTRE

The Semenggoh Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre, established in 1975 near Kuching, Sarawak, plays a crucial role in rehabilitating displaced orangutans while also serving as a research and education hub for conservation. The tropical forest within Semenggoh supports diverse wildlife but faces deforestation threats, making conservation efforts like tree planting essential for restoring the ecosystem. These initiatives provide food and shelter for orangutans, absorb carbon dioxide, stabilize soil, and improve air quality. Through participation in such programs, the public gains awareness of biodiversity, climate change, and the significant impact of small environmental actions.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

  1. Increase participants' awareness of the importance of preserving orangutan habitats and biodiversity. 

  2. Support forest conservation efforts by planting at least 20 saplings. 

  3. Foster teamwork and collaboration among community participants. 

  4. Educate participants on climate change's impacts and forest conservation's importance.

| RUMAH SERI KENANGAN KUCHING

The Community Service Program at Rumah Seri Kenangan Kuching is organized with the aim of providing moral and emotional support to the residents, who are senior citizens. This program also seeks to raise awareness among the community and conference participants from various countries about the importance of caring for the elderly while fostering a spirit of volunteerism among participants. With a variety of planned activities, this program is expected to have a positive impact on both the residents and conference participants, while also introducing traditional local games that can be used as a tool to enhance the mental and physical well-being of senior citizens.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

  1. Providing moral and emotional support to care home residents.

  2. Raising public awareness about the importance of caring for the elderly.

  3. Encouraging the spirit of volunteerism among participants.

  4. Sharing knowledge related to physical and mental health in old age.
